What do you think the human remains look like when they recovered the Hunley? It fascinated me that for 130 years, the submarine Hunley stayed in the bottom of the ocean. In the 1800s, technology was weak thus the sinking of this sub, which was the first to sink a ship in combat. In Discovery, they said that they recovered human remains inside the sub. But out of respect, they have not shown the photos in public. What does it look like? They said the sub was full of sediments preserving most of the artifacts inside, does it mean, the human was preserved too?

Cost for transportation of human remains out of country? I am seeking guidance in determining the cost and the necessary permits to transport the deceased from Los Angeles, California to Tijuana, Mexico for burial. I think that a permit from the state of California for the transportation and disposition of human remains is probably required...but I was wondering what the cost of the permit will be and what other permits are required from the US and Mexico to transport a body. I was also wondering what other steps are necessary to transport a body from Los Angeles to Tijuana and what the costs would be. Would appreciate any help.
Is it legal to own human remains? I am a history buff, and really enjoy collecting old guns and other items from pre-19th century. It is fun to think about what the object must have went through in its days. I am not going to dig up a grave, and I have no idea where to buy human remains, but if I were somehow able to get my hands on a human skeleton, would it be legal to have in my home? I live in the state of Tennessee in the United States. I am not sure if each state or country has different law.

Can we scatter human remains in Australia? My father died some years ago and my mother has very recently passed away, it was their wish to have their remains scattered in the botanical gardens in Cairns, Australia. The problem is that my parents (and brothers and sister) live in the UK, are we allowed to take the ashes to Australia and scatter them on public land?
What is the success rate of sniffer dogs that are trained to locate human remains? I have been searching for scientifically based tests that give a clear indication of the success/failure rate of sniffer dogs, but have been unable to do so. Does anyone know just how accurate such dogs are? Does anyone have any experience in working with them? I'm in the process of writing a forensic science dissertation and the information requested above would help me greatly:-) Thx.
How can I tell if I found human remains? I was walking my dog last night. HE got to chewing and playing with something. I finally took it from him. It is definitely a piece of spinal cord about 3 discs. How can I tell? It even has that rubbery tissue in between the discs.
Are there still Human remains left in the Titanic & under the sea? I thought it was right to recover bodies, suprisingly Captain Smith's body was never found as they remains could not have been vanished so quickly after the ship sank & the time they were recovering bodies. Sad that this tragedy and other tragedys have occured in this Planet or other Planets & all over the Universe.
What do I do with a gift that was human remains? We had our office party last week. We exchanged white elephant gifts. I ended up getting my boss's mother-in-laws ashes. I have no idea why he gave away her remains like that. I know that he just recently went through a nasty divorce with his wife. I don't know what to do with this urn thing?!?!?! I'm scared to throw it out in case my boss asks about it later in the future. Please help!
Were human remains found in the mid 1980's to 90's in a Southern Perth suburb? Possibly female and before or during the construction of Centenary Avenue area Wilson. An old family friend back in the 80's to 90's saw a woman being chased by someone in a car. She rang police but never heard anything about it again. "Apparently" remains may have been found 10 years later in that same area and for her peace of mind was wondering if it could have been the same girl. Hope it was a rumour.
Can I take human remains (cremated) out of the USA ? I want to take my brother's cremated remains back to our home country (Israel). To observe the weight limits, I placed them in a zip-loc sandwich bag (double bagged), and left the urn home with my mother. Will I need a death certificate ? Will I have trouble going through customs or the TSA pre-board check in ? Please, honest answers only. Thank you

How do creationists explain the existence of remains of human evolutionary ancestors? Many have been found, Homo ecectus, Homo Habilis, Australopithecine etc etc. Were these just work in progress? did god make these first but then decide he could improve on the design? or were the remains just put here as kind of divine joke on us? Please explain.... I have checked the "many" factor...Not including the species already mentioned.. Homo hiedelbergensis, Homo geogicus, Australopithecus gari, Austra' africanus, Austra' afarenisis...I could go on. How do you explain their existance?
