Medical Insurance Letter (medical, hospitalization, repatriation expenses coverage) for Schengen Visa?
The consulate general states that these 3 things must be stated in exact wordings, and that if not then visa granting will be delayed. However, my letter states ALL medical coverages will be covered for my short stay Visa in France, would it work? And is it even worth trying ? If I did would it have any effect on decision on the Visa, or would it just delay it?

- not having this certificate or letter will disqualify you from getting the visa. a certificate from a health insurance company in paris must state all the required wording and you must have a health insurance membership.
- If you have an Affidavit of Support ("Attestation d’Accueil") to be obtained by the person you are visiting in France from the local Town-hall ("Mairie") at it states all medical coverages are covered by your sponsor you will be good to go. If you have obtained an overseas travel insurance on your own it must include medical cover, hospitalization and repatriation with a €30.000 limit, valid for all 25 countries of the Schengen area. It must cover the duration of the requested visa, at least 30 days.. Since every French embassy uses a different wording and has different modes of proof of the insurance requirements and every insurance company uses different wordings in their insurance policies there are no standard wordings for Overseas Travel Insurances. If your applying consulate however requires a statement from your insurance company that your insurance policy covers the requirements, they should be listed seperately, otherwise consulate personnel must check through several pages long terms of conditions of your insurance policy which will cause your application to be delayed or even denied.
