What foods we you feeding your babies at 7 months?
What stage? 1,2, or 3? I tried giving her the Gerbeer cookies and she was sucking on them, not chewing. Do you give your the mixed baby foods? Like Mac-n-cheese? Turkey and rice? What were your babies favorite foods? So far I have been giving her the stage 2 single fruit or vegitable, but those are so boring. And the food is runny, it's kind of a pain, is Stage 3 okay?

- My son LOVED applesauce. I tried bashed bananas in breast milk, but he never went for that. He liked the fruits, but then he started eating table food.
- my son is 6 months old i give him stage 2 now, he loves all of them , but he dont like the meat ones, i think stage 3 is the best but thats later on
- By that age, our son was already on full, regular table food. I had jars and jars of baby food I had bought on sale, and they ended up having to be given away - because once he tasted 'real' food with actual flavour and seasonings, he wasn't having any of that jarred stuff. He was eating pretty much what we were - though of course we started him on mashed potatoes and mushed cooked veggies, etc. with soft meat, fish, and other foods. Gave him a piece of jerky, and he sucked it back pink - so it wasn't dehydrated any longer! It was so funny! So, that's just what we did!
- I would wait on stage 3 , I have a 6 month old and she is eating stage 2 but I get the chicken and rice , and vanilla custard, any thing that is mixed with another food. They are thicker and she seems to really like them. There are allot of different foods for stage 2 foods . Good luck
- My 7 month old is still on level 2. I have given him the zwieback toast and stars but he isn't very fond of them yet. My ped said not to start meats until 9 months. I haven't tried stage three food yet. Try the DHA with rice, oats, or grains. It is thicker. My sons loves the sweet potatoes and corn meal. I have also tried the mixed fruit and he seems to like that as well. Your right, it is boring having the same thing over and over. I would def try different level 2 foods. Good luck!
- At 7 months I only fed my daughter stage 1 foods. Only because she has allergies so I had to do one different food a week to make sure she wasn't allergic. Yes, they are a major pain, but its best for your baby. My daughter is 10 months, and I just began the stage 3 and she doesn't like them at all. She doesn't like the pieces in them. I think its ok to be giving her the mac-n-cheese and turkey and rice. My daughter's favorite is the apples and chicken, you should try that, maybe your daughter will like it too :)
- LMAO....@ Lydia's baby
- The numbered stages are designed to guide you so that you start with easy to eat and digest foods and move to harder to eat and digest foods. Your baby has to learn eveything; how to open and close her mouth, move her tongue to bring in the food, chew, swallow, breath, etc. She is being bombarded by new tastes and textures, what the spoon is doing, your reaction to her efforts, the other things goin on while she's eating, etc. Its incrediby complicated. She's got more information hitting her brain than she can process. Even if she doesnt have teeth she will chew (or gum) her food. And her stomach is still developing; breaking down the food and digesting it is a challenge. The advice that I received from the hospital and doctor was: start with pablum (baby cereal) between 4 and 6 months she is has good neck control and seems to be interested in others eating. When she's doing this comfortably (a week, a few weeks later?) start her on a thin, smooth vegetable. A week later a different vegetable, and then another. Kids seem to like zucchini, squash, carrots. Then introduce fruit - apple, pear, prune, etc. Go with single food types, not different types mixed together. After that meat or some sort of protein. Then you move up to the chunkier stuff and the mixed stuff like turkey and rice (my kids liked this) and the mac and cheese (which is not a healthy choice). She won't like the chunky stuff at first so do it gradually, mix the runny and chunky together, crush the chunky parts down with your spoon until she gets used to it. Once she can eat the chunky baby food you could be feeding her "regular" food that the rest of the family eats, just dice it up into really small pieces so that she doesnt choke. Why do you care that her food is boring? It will be boring for you because she isn't used to salt or grease or spices. Is she bored? I suspect she is sucking on the cookie because she doesn't know how to bite something off and chew it. I'm a little concerned that you think feeding her runny food "is a pain." Don't rush her - she's learning an incredible amount. Giving her food she's not ready for will make her miserable and could set her progress back.
