For people who worked in fast food, quick help on jewellery?
Since I'm a guy I wear a nice watch. I was just wondering, since I'm in fastfood should I keep it on or will it bother me and should I just keep it off so it doesn't get ruined? What if it's the same situation, but I carried a cellphone?

- Keep it off because the grease fades the color and the unusual crap they put in there fake foods.
- Keep it at home. It's going to get ruined, believe me. Buy a cheap watch for work if you really want to wear one.

- Leave it at home....it can get wet, greasy, bumped, scratched, damaged. Any job that involves any form of physical labor, you should leave it home. Cell phones cannot be carried on most jobs or they must be turned off. Most fast fod places require them to be left in car or locker. When I worked fast food or as server, I had a timex watch that could get wet, was inexpensive and I did not care if it became damaged. My daughter and son does the same.
- I worked in fast food for 3 years and no jewelry was allowed at all. But even if I was allowed I would not wear a watch, it will get messed up.
- i'd say buy a crappy plastic watch to wear at work as long as you are at a fast food joint so you won't have to worry about it getting messed up on the job
- You should keep it off. You may want to buy a cheap watch just for work.
- i worked at jack in the box, we weren't allowed any jewellery on our hands, except a wedding band if you were married... one pair earrings and nothing on your face. might be different for you, plus what position do you work? front end or drive it wouldn't be a problem but i would take it off if i was cooking or doing dishes, especially at the fryer.
- Keep it at home for two reasons: 1. You don't want it to get messed up (grease especially). 2. If you work with anything that gets extremely hot....fryers/ovens/etc....it can make any serious burn that you get on your arm while working much worse because the metal on your watch will get extremely hot. This is why a lot of fast food places prohibit employees from wearing any jewelry that is not a wedding/engagement ring or small earrings. As for the cellphone issue.....I don't carry mine with me because it can get banged up or wet just being in my pants pocket because of washing dishes or being in a hurry and running into things. The other thing is that it could go off at a bad time too and get you in trouble.
- Keep it off. When you drop things in the deep fryer, the steam will f*** it up. Also, you might be like me and forget that it is on and go do dishes and ruin it...not good
