As an expat living in Holland, I would really like to buy a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. How would I do it?

Interested in cost, process, etc. Not sure if I can even get this car due to limited quantities, but I really want to have it to drive on the autobahn. How much for the car, how much for shipping, and who handles these things?

  1. www.ford.ca for prices and nobody can tell you how much the import taxes will be you have to ask at your customs
  2. Problem is you would have to speak with a vehicle importer probably in England as I see a lot of them there who are currently importing cars such as the Roush racing editions http://www.newport-imports.com/home.asp You will be looking at a good 75k-85k euros as the cars go for $60k in the states, and go for a premiem here.. so add to that import duties, converting over for use on European roads (safety lighting and such as required by law possibly in your country)
  3. "Gearbox" has given a very good answer. I would have said pretty much the same thing. I just wanted to let you know that if you end up buying the gt500 and driving it on the autobahn, I will be extremely jealous. I just wanted to give you props, you will be getting one amazing car.
  4. Cost of the car, + taxes + shipping + replacing the tail lights for Euro style tail lights + registration… But the only thing we can tell you is how much the car cost here in the US...
  5. The first thing I would do is check with a Ford/Shelby dealer in the states or with Shelby American in California to see if they even export the car modified for import into Holland. If they don't then it might not be worth the expense and red tape you would have to go through just to get permission to bring the car into the country. If you can buy the car already converted to European specs then you can worry about cost and where to actually pick it up.Right now with the weak dollar it would not be as expensive as you might think. But that won't help you with the price of gas over there and a Shelby is no economy car.If they export the car I'm sure Shelby American will know everything you need to do and what it would cost. Just google Shelby American. Good Luck!!!
