  1. I guess women deserve it... after all they go through....its about time cheers
  2. I personally don't care. If anyone feels threatened by this, then go to school, work hard and do something about it. As for me, I'm not going let any man or woman outdo me in my field. It's all about my drive and desire.
  3. I'm sure a lot of people will take issue with it.
  4. I was aware of all of this, I'm only in my thirties so all I know is equal opportunities, our last two presidents have been female... that's why it bothers me when I hear women crying victim, wtf are they talking about? The article does not take into account the fact that marketing takes a lot back from a female, she spends a lot on consumables. I have read that women are dominating in the top 1.5% of wealthiest people and that it was down to divorce settlements.
  5. First let me note that I am female, and as a female I believe that women should be given the same opportunities as men. That having been said, here is my opinion: I believe that this article is biased, based on the fact that it was written by a female. I am aware that statistics can be and have been skewed in favor of whomever is paying for the analysis. That's two marks against this article's claim. It is through my personal experience that I have found males to make better bosses than females. I have had had both many male bosses and many female bosses. While the male ego may sometimes interfere with decision making, the female tendency to personalize and analyze every comment, look, or task from her employees aften causes unnecessary strife in the workplace. Under a male boss, generally, an employee can do their job and do it well, and that is all that is required of that employee. Under a female boss, not only does the employee have to do their job and do it well, but they have to also appease the boss. By this, I mean that you need to enjoy yourself and show enthusiasm whether you like it or not - and quite frankly, not everyone is a happy robot drone. It's one thing to go to work and take pride in your job, but to have to appease the boss, and mold your personality is bound to end in strife. I have had only one female boss who was easy to work for, but she was gay - so how much does that count? I think feminists would tend to disagree with me and uphold this article as evidence of equality, but I tend to go off experience more than random statistics and I would choose the male boss over the female boss everytime, all other things being equal.
  6. I disagree - I think the majority of men make better leaders than the majority of women. And the women who make good leaders are typically masculine (like Margaret Thatcher). I know it's "sexist" but I don't care because it's true.
  7. From what I saw in high school (my college is primarily made up of women), girls tend to be mega people-pleasers so got better grades. Now that we're further along the gender-equality scale, this does make sense that more and more women are successful. Of course men have just as much an ability to do well as women, I think men care less- which to me is good thing also, because a lot of women get stressed out caring so much about what other people think. Women could also feel that they have to work extra-hard and do extra-well to prove they are capable of the job. To isurf- I don't have much work experience but have seen this where I did work. I also had great female bosses. But I definitely notice this in professors/teachers. Men are much more laid back and understanding. Women are more likely to treat me as "inferior" or like a child because I'm their student.
